Our relationship with the Mártir group stretches all the way back to our earliest days and we’re proud to have increased the volumes purchased from them each year as our business has grown. As part of our strategy to delve deeper into our sourcing relationships rather than wider, this year we have selected eight lots in total from the Mártir group that we’re looking forward to sharing throughout the year. The impeccable quality and consistency of these coffees each season is a credit to the organisation and dedication of the group members, and we feel privileged to be able to showcase them every harvest.
Màrtir was founded in 2019 by Didier Javier Pajoy Ico. All of the producer members are either farming organically or are in transition to organic practices, and Didier has spent a significant amount of time teaching producers how to make organic fertilisers and advising on how to best deal with waste water from washing coffee. For Màrtir, the goal is always to produce the highest quality coffee in a manner which has the lowest impact on the environment.
