VOODOO Running

Question 1 – Tell us a little about VOODOO.

VOODOO is for the new generation of runners and running brands. The founders wanted to simply create what they wish existed in Manchester. The concept is a modern, multidisciplinary retail space championing the best new and emerging brands within running, in a space where runners could gather, connect, and feel part of the community. Modern retail needs to be more than just selling products. VOODOO is a space for all runners to meet pre or post-run and welcomes the entire Manchester community in, whether you run or not. Open daily from 7am with baked goods delivered fresh from Long Bois Bakehouse in Levenshulme.

Question 2 – What is your most memorable coffee experience?

My most memorable coffee experience would probably be about 8 years ago in Melbourne, Australia. I was travelling around Australia and Asia and set up base in Melbourne. One of the first regular shops I became accustomed to was Brother Baba Budan, and it just gave me a taste of what coffee can really be. My go to would be one of their many guest filter options and then on a warm day, espresso tonic 100%! Melbourne summers got hot and it gave me a new perspective on how delicious coffee could be served cold as well as hot.

Question 3 – What does your morning coffee routine look like?

Generally, a morning coffee routine will start at 5.30am for me, it’ll involve a rushed AeroPress, but I try to always give myself a 30 minute window of calm in the morning before my day starts. If this can’t happen then it’s going in a flask and joining me on my morning walk with my dog Mars. Days off usually start with a pourover or if I’m up early it’s straight to one of my favourite coffeeshops that Manchester has to offer for a morning of coffees and bakes.
