Washed geisha produced by David Ruben Gomez in La Plata, Colombia.

It is our pleasure to welcome this impeccable geisha from David Ruben Gomez, a member of Mártir Coffee, our long term partners in Colombia. This is an elegant, refined coffee with refreshing acidity and delicate florals, a perfect profile for the warmer months ahead.

Our relationship with the Mártir group stretches all the way back to our earliest days and we’re proud of how our partnership has developed each year as our businesses has grown alongside one another. As part of our strategy to delve deeper into our sourcing relationships rather than wider, this year we have selected six lots in total from the Mártir group, enabling us to purchase higher overall volumes from the group and therefore ultimately deepen our impact. The impeccable quality and consistency of these coffees each season is a credit to the organisation and dedication of the group members, and we feel privileged to be able to showcase them every year.

This particular lot was grown by group member David Ruben Gomez at his farm Finca El Refugio in La Florida, La Plata. After picking, David floats, sorts and ferments his cherries for 24 hours before pulping and then wet fermenting for a further 36 hours, after which he washed the parchment and dried for 22 days.
